Annual Nantahala Falls Open
The annual Nantahala Open is a fun competition that is open to all boaters no matter the experience or ability. The Open came about because of the fact that once-upon-a-time the kayaking scene was filled with competitions that seemed strictly “experts only.” Recognizing the spirit of kayaking for fun, there are categories for every skill level--and prizes that go along with them! The event takes place on the Nantahala River at the renowned Nantahala Falls rapid. 2011 NANTAHALA OPEN: APRIL 16

About the Event
- the Nantahala Open
- is hosted by Endless River Adventures. It is an annual event at the Nantahala Falls and is enjoyed by paddlers of every skill level! SCHEDULE: Plan on participation between 10AM and 3:30PM. All you must do is sign up at the staging area above the Falls. Then head downstream to work your magic. POST PARTY: At Endless River Adventures from 5PM - 10PM. Beverages and light food and music until the video of the days' event previews at dark. GEARSWAP: All day at ERA. No preregistration required. Just bring your stuff before/after you run the river. Very casual.
Endless River Adventures
is located just one mile upstream of the Falls. Take time to stop in the Outfitters Store--stocked by paddlers, for paddlers-and the area's only Wave Sport dealer.
